About Connective Energy
With an eye to the future, Connective energy is a renewable energy company that creates eco-friendly fuel and fertilizers. We currently have several plants in operation which include:
Biogas Plants
These plants use organic waste to produce renewable power, fuel, biofertilizer and CO2.
To achieve this, we produce biogas in anaerobic digesters by recycling plant and animal waste.
As the waste breaks down it creates biogas which can be collected and used to generate electricity.
Biogas differs from natural gas in that it is a renewable energy source produced biologically through anaerobic digestion rather than a fossil fuel produced by geological processes.
The Anaerobic Digestion process also produces Biofertiliser which can be used as an alternative to chemical fertilizers in farming and land regeneration.Hydro Plant
Turbines and generators convert the energy into electricity, which is then fed into the electrical grid for use in homes, businesses, and industry.
Glenmore
Our biogas plant at Glenmore produces over 5MW electrical output and captures food grade CO2 to be used in the manufacturing industry. The biogas plant produces these outputs by processing up to 90k tonnes of food waste and animal manures per annum. In addition to this the biogas plant produces rich organic fertiliser that is used across our estate.
Castlefin
Connective energy operates a 500 KW biogas plant located in Castlefin Co. Donegal. This plant produces energy for the national grid. This plant processes up to 15k tons of animal manures and dairy waste per annum.
Sion
Connective Energy operates a Hydro Electric Plant located in Sion Mills, Strabane, Co. Tyrone. Turbines convert the energy into electricity, which is then fed into the electrical grid for use in homes, businesses, and industry.
